Modern Language Bibles

I have Four Requirements which Modern Translations must meet before I will recommend them:

  1. Literal Translation Style vs Dynamic Equivalent Translation Style
  2. Original or Gender Accurate vs Gender Neutral
  3. Trustworthy Translators / Bias-free Translation
  4. Excellent Translation Quality / Strength of Scholarship

Skip to the Conclusion: Out of all the (15+) Modern Translations I have reviewed in depth, I can only recommend 3: the New American Standard (NASB), the English Standard Version (ESV), or the American Standard Version (ASV-1901). Of these 3, I prefer the NASB because it includes (in brackets or with translation notes) content included in the Textus Receptus, but excluded from the Critical texts.
